I don't know what compelled me to even attempt this, but here we are. While the pose and outfit came to mind pretty easily, the idea to try a completely different style took a while to settle on. Back before Skyward Sword was officially revealed, Nintendo released some concept art of Link and Fi that was quite eye catching (and notably different in style and tone from the game we actually got) and for some reason part of me wanted to try replicating it. Problem was, I had no idea how to even begin something like that, so I dismissed it and continued as usual... until the lines were finished, and the concept art came to mind again. After trying to imitate the background and being surprised to find it looked okay, the rest just kind of happened on its own. I still have no clue how this didn't turn out absolutely awful, though I will readily admit that the fact that this was improvised on the spot really shows. I'm sure someone that actually paints would find this atrocious, but I guess it's okay for a blind first attempt.

With that being said, trying new styles has been fun. This is the kind of thing I never really get a chance to try outside of these monthly images. Also, for those unfamiliar with this character, no, she does not have arms.
