Do you think there is a difference between Western and Japanese approaches to game design and would you be interested in researching it?

There absolutely is!

Just like there's different approaches to food, cities, and vending machines. One of the biggest peeves I know a lot of people (myself included) had about Japanese games in the 2000s and 2010s is, Demon's Souls aside, most games were still caught in the rut of tutorilizing every minor action for minutes at a time rather than trusting the player to properly explore the worlds for themselves.

However, Breath of the Wild has really changed that, and now, the shoe seems somewhat on the other foot.

I don't think I'd be the right person to research the topic more deeply, but it is fascinating.

Have you ever considered doing music criticism? Your video on Mick Gordon’s DOOM soundtrack is one of my favorites of yours.

That video being one of my least favorites is likely why answer is leaning towards no, although, I've always had ideas to explore some of my favorite albums like Comaduster's Hollow Worlds and Solace.

The obvious challenge with music is to make an interesting video out of it visually, especially when it's an uber niche album without much material to work with.

That could prove to be a compelling challenge when I'm more competent, but currently, it's out of my range I think.

Hi Ray. As a big Ratchet and Clank fan i have to ask, which one is your Favorite from the series?

Sorry to disappoint, but the only one I've played for more than five minutes on an emulator is Up Your Arsenal, rented it from Rogers Home Video as a kid, and I remember really loving it until some difficulty spike that kicked my ass...

or I just got lost, which considering I was too dumb to play Half Life back then, is a very real possability.
