There have been a lot of licensed Warhammer 40k games in recent years, admittedly of varying quality, but the variety produces games that explore the universe in mechanically interesting ways. Do you think Halo could benefit from this kind of model?

Absolutely! I'm someone that’s been pushing for years that huge franchises like Halo should use their mass reach to experiment with Middle Market titles more often. I've also been thinking about expanding my previous Patreon article "I'm Jealous of Warhammer" into a full video, as what's interesting, Warhammer itself is its own case of mishandling. The frequent middle market experimentation it does more comes from necessity and lack of care rather than a genuine goal, it just so happens to make the Mass Effect/Black Lagoon/ fan in me very jealous.

Are there any games that include a particular mechanic, mode, system, or other feature, that you think has the potential to branch out into their own, separate, yet full-fledged experience?

I've gotta resist the urge to talk about Battlefield's hot swapping mechanic as I've already done that a million times. I want more games with long-term character relationships. It's something even old NASCAR games used to do where treating a fellow competitor like trash would pitch them against you, potentially destroying your race 6+ events later. This is something that would work for sports games, but even just games in general, and it doesn't need to be that overt.

Just even something like characters relationships in a squad tactical shooter varying depending on how they get along. It's something that I know XCOM 2's expansion hinted at.

What's your gut feeling about Halo Infinite?

Campaign will be bugged to hell, but the multiplayer will be super polished and fun… lacking content. In other words, just like Halo 5 now that I think about it.

Which military historical event has untapped video game potential?

Anything from World War II that doesn't have to do with Normandy, Japan, Africa, or Russia. World War I's only gotten alt-history or over the top treatments like Battlefield I. There's so much potential that's gone to waste.

What's the hardest part about making videos?

When Adobe's working properly, writing, when Adobe's being a total bitch, editing. Though at the moment, the biggest challenge is subject matter, you'll see why.

After seeing the latest trailer for "Bomb Rush Cyberfunk", I was reminded of an artist called 2-Mello who made an album inspired by JSR called "Memories of Tokyo-To" and I saw that barely half a week ago he released another album called "Sounds Of Tokyo-To Future"... Have you listened to either of these? (if not, I recommend you do so ASAP, they are bomb)

I have not, but I'll give anything a listen. Adding to the que!

Ever have the feeling of wanting to play a game that caters to your specific tastes, but that game doesn't exist and you're stuck in a weird limbo where you don't feel like playing any other game?

I've been in the weird limbo where whole genres of games just aren't doing it for me, most recently that was shooters after getting addicted to racing games in the early Summer. However, for the former, I don't find that puts me in limbo, it just makes me slightly depressed.
