If you could design an immersive sim, what kind of setting would it have and what kind of story would you like to tell?

For years I've pondered over a sci-fi where a decaying Earth sends three shuttles from the world's three superpowers to a fictional planet nearby. Upon landing however, each of ship was the victim of internal conflict, altering the balance of power on arrival. It's in this environment that I'd want to give players an Immersive Sim where they're building the planet's police-force. Starting out as a small team of vigilantes in Act 1, leading a force in Act 2, and commanding an army in Act 3.

Unsurprisingly, I'm picturing this as a pretty dark game. One that isn't completely void of optimism, but one where it's very, very difficult for the player to maintain vanity.

What do you think of Cyberpunk 2077 and the gameplay scenes that have been showed so far, or are you already riding the hype train like me and loads of others or are you taking it with caution?

I'm very much taking it with caution. Despite loving Witcher 3, I was very much not a fan of Assassins of Kings, and the demos for Cyberpunk very much reminded me of that game in a negative way. Primarily in its writing, with characters coming across as overly edgy and inauthentic.

That's not to say I'm completly cynical towards it. I in-fact hold lots of hope, being that it's quite literally the only AAA Cyberpunk game being released now that Square Enix has completely dropped the Deus Ex franchise.

If resources (time, money, etc) weren't an issue what project would you like to pursue?

Mass Effect: Citadel. An open-world RPG where the entire Citadel Station is rendered, complete with flying cars, NPC's, and seamless loading. So far, each Mass Effect has been grand-scale where we get a little piece of the vast Milky Way, and I think it'd be awesome to take a single environment and showcase its own scale.

A bit of a follow up to a question I asked you last month on Massive Attack, I was scrolling through my Spotify playlists and wondered if you'd listened to Garbage? If so, what do you think of them and what's your favourite tune of theirs?

Yes! Paranoid's one of my all time favorite songs. Too many sessions of it blasting to my time on Gran Turismo 2. Though as much as I love the track, it really comes alive when you're behind the wheel. Just occurred to me, I've never done the Nurburgring to it. That needs to change.

However, it's not a band I've gone to for Albums, though I've certainly tried. There's other songs I've blasted to like Girl Don't Come, but in-general, it's been a band that I respect, but only go-to for a few songs. Their 2016 album actually had some solid-songs, but as an album, was once again something I couldn't binge.
