It's said you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, yet that's what I did for Kasabian's latest record. Looking like the VHS cover of a College Short, this image didn't leave any expectations, and it certainly doesn't sync up to the album's opening which is balls to the wall!

III Ray (The King)'s and Twentyfourseven are absolute bangers in desperate need of more usage in shows, film, and games.

And in traditional Kasabian fashion, the whole record isn't made up of British Rock 'n Roll. Featuring slow-burners like "Are You Looking for Action" and the beautiful acoustic piece "All Through The Night."

This album is the opposite of this cover; it's vibrant, varied, and visceral.

Writing on Games

Man, I haven't really paid much attention to Kasabian since the second album, but I actually revisit the self-titled a fair bit and it really holds up. I remember finding demos of those songs and they sounded like football anthems or something, before the producer applied a bunch of weird krautrock and industrial synths/beats to it all. You've inspired me to go listen to that again, thanks!
