The Hero and the Princess (Patreon)

The land of Theria knows no hero like the borderman Count Adolyn Valenrow. Son of Duke Palence Valenrow of Evandale, one the largest duchies in the Kingdom of Lioncourt and located in near the north eastern borderlands. As a member of the famed border legion, he has time again defended the kingdom from armies of the neighboring Kingdoms of Sauria and Argoria, as well as savage wilderings from the Moorlands and even driven wicked spirits back into the dreaded Mist Marsh.

Perhaps Adolyn is best known for his adventures as a youth. Travelling Theria and visiting the temple of the four corners, he defeated the beasts of old and claimed the Sword Durandal; all to save the princess Megan. She had been stolen away by the Eldermen. These cultist worshiped the elderian beast and wished to sacrifice her to bring about an end to the Forbidding.

Offered accolades and rewards, and even a place as the Primus Corvinus of the King's Raven Knights. Adolyn was revered as a 'champion of champions.' He was also offered the hand of Princess Megan. Untempted by titles and ranks, Adolyn refused all prizes and returned to the Border Legion. There he would push back an attack by the Saurian Empire and eventually arrive to save the then Prince Eriol from a Saurian plot that claimed the life of the King. Now 24, he travels the lands using his wit and sword to make things right that are wrong. He protects the Kingdom from all things supernatural and mystical in the world. A true hero, he is eternally loyal to the crown. A loyalty often exploited by the princess.

Megan de Lioncourt is the precocious young princess of Lioncourt and King Eriol’s second child. As a female descendant of the Lioncourt line she is capable of controlling blood gems, Mana stones of unimaginable power. It is said that these gems can burn away the barriers of the four temples and once again release the Dragons of the Four corners. They are also believed to be powerful enough to rip the Forbidding asunder and release the elderian creatures into the mundane lands. She carries a great burden.

Far from overwhelmed by her charge, Megan accepts her duties with grace and wisdom. She is smart, bossy, flirtatious and incredibly wise for her age. She fancies her position as spymaster to the throne and routinely enjoys crushing suitors beneath her thumb. She however has a special fondness for a few men, but none so much as the Hero Adolyn. Despite his protests, Megan often abuses her station and forces Adolyn into sexual dalliances with her. Though the princess claims to just enjoy the company of the noble night, secretly she wishes to marry him. Having refused her hand in the past, it is her intention to get herself pregnant by the caracal. An entanglement that the noble knight would not walk away from.
