Gabriel is a rather unorthodox ranger. Though his archery skills are great, they are merely pedestrian for his vocation. His hunting, tracking, and foresting skills are admirable, but nothing to write home about. All and all, he is not very typical of a Ranger.

Though his limitations make him a rather average ranger, his strengths in martial skills, espionage, information gathering, and stealth make him ideal as a Blood Raven. 

Unlike other Raven's whose job it is to defend the realm from dangerous magical threats, the proud few who count themselves among the Blood Ravens within the Order are specifically trained in infiltration, asset denial, and threat liquidation. Some would consider them assassins, others problem solvers.

Many find the work distasteful, though necessary, and in the past Blood Ravens began to be isolated from their peers, leading to lowered morale and impacting their mental state and performance. Thus few know which Ravens are actually Blood Ravens. Though many suspect Gabriel, an Ayeri, would be a perfect candidate for the program.
