Whenever he has the chance, Sir Riyo Vanderleur makes it a point to make his way where the nomads of the Moinee are travelling or camping through the Free Timberlands. Though never homesick, he does miss his tribe and fellow tribeskin from time to time, but not as much as many miss him.

Upon his return the pretty Iluka, Son of Araluen, a young quoll and paramour is always excited to see him. The only paramour that Riyo himself helped train, Iluka is unabashedly enamored with the older Palawa and often seeks time with him when the two are near.

Though Riyo sees the boy as a friend and mentee, his love for the boy is not nearly as strong or romantic as Iluka's is for him; though such a mutual bond is not necessary for passion and physical intimacy among the Palawa.

Often, Iluka begs Riyo to take him with him when he leaves, but lacking any useful combat abilities, Riyo refuses to take the young man from the safety of the tribe, knowing a pretty little thing like him can get into all kinds of trouble out in the world.
