Torian Akuja is of the Tikaani Tribes of Amarok, specifically the most powerful tribe, the Igaluk. He is not only Kaidon, a title of leadership that was brought north from the Wolf Tribes of the Free Timberlands, but also Doyen of his own Pack of Imakandi Hunters.

The Tikaani are an interesting collection of kinling in Theria. No one knows what their original cultural identity was like. The Tikaani often assimilate facets of other cultures and religions that either align with previous held beliefs, or seem logical and helpful enough to be adopted into their culture. 

One thing that has however been readily adopted by all of Amarok is a severe suspicion of mages. The various tribes of Amarok from the Kodiak Tribes to the Alabaster Tribes of Noveria all have their magic users and shamans, but learned Librarium Mages are often met with scrutiny by the kin of the Expanse.

Though not persecuted or unwelcome, mages are nevertheless closely watched and attended to while in Amarok. Given the nature of their connection with the flow of mana and how their cultural arcana works, Amarok rarely has issues with subversive magic users or those twisted by abuse of the Rivinua as they call it. Most such malefocurm come from beyond the winter wall and they have all been either Mages or former Mages of the Librarium. 

Here we have a wandering mage, Zack, visiting Amarok for the first time. After submitting himself for inquiry, he is treated to the hospitalities of the Igaluk kin. Kaidon Torian Akuja was welcoming enough to give the young mage a bit of his time, and offer to keep him company on his trip to the frigid north.
