Idk if u guys caught that but galliard was actually never supposed to be the jaw titan .he was actually supposed to be the armored titan but his brother marcel wanted him to live a long life .so instead marcel campaigned for Reiner to get the armored titan .Marcel was Basically lying to the Marleyan officers saying bad things abt galliard & boosting up Reiner just to protect his brother.Therefore Reiner was never supposed to be chosen .That’s why when Ymir was brought back to Marley galliard was next in line to get the jaw bc he was originally the best candidate for the armored titan .
