Yeah, just wait until texting and driving arrives! And staring at a smart phone while walking across the street oblivious to everything. This was made before the crash movie you transferred with those seat belts that were little more than decorations. Cars back then were incredibly heavy and probably needed a whole lot more room to stop. This was all common sense and I don't remember EVER coming close to being hit by a car as a child. Simple... Car = big, heavy and unpredictable. Child = small, light-weight, and able to leap in front of a driver from all kinds of blind spots. Sum total = death. "Thinning the heard" comes to mind here. I liked watching trains that were in the area, but never had to be told to not walk the tracks when they were moving. If parents can't teach their children the physics of a 2 ton machine hitting a 75 lb child, then I see where this film would be useful.
