This is my last build project before the move, it was half done when I  got the notice that I was being pushed out of the space but I had to go  back and finish it up and make this condensed video of about a week's  work.  Worth it though, because this flight sim is the real deal!   Enjoy!

I am impressed. Would love to make one!

It looks good! I sincerely hope you can get back to the real thing once the move is over.

I like those linkages. Exactly as complicated as they need to be, and no more.

Mike O'Dell

The DIY composite is very cute indeed, especially the part about bonding the core after getting the linkage action right just with the semi-rigid skins. So what is the name/product-ID of the 3M adhesive film??

Dr Andy Hill

Ingenious and meticulous as ever Fran, I hope you can use some of the money from the flight school go fund me, to pay for the time to keep your hours up for your student license (sorry I know my terminology is all wrong there., but I hope you'll know what I mean)

I'm not sure, but on Ebay you can search for the 3m phone film or something like that....

The GoFundMe pretty much paid for some of the initial expenses I had in the first weeks, but it's on pause until I get back to it next year (possibly).

OKay, now a gizmo so as you turn your head the screen follows where you want to look. That's what I need for my simulator.

That wasn't a bad landing at all - it was a slightly janky approach followed by a beautiful landing! You flared just the right amount at the end and set the plane down perfectly.

My initial thought was "Why bother? What's wrong with some generic flight sim controls?". Then once you built it, it sure looks like a nice idea and actually makes sense.
