Okay- we're up to part three of the nostalgia Heathkit build and in this episode I go all-in with wiring and soldering the chassis.  A few difficulties, not to mention a great deal of editing - I shot 5hrs of footage and spent a full day editing, so...  Enjoy!

Great Sunday morning stuff again

Ewen McNeill

It’s been very interesting watching someone experienced work through the routing challenges of point to point wiring, based on instructions that are at the level of “an experienced user will know what to do”. Particularly since most modern kits are surface mount, or at least through hole PCBs. Hope part 4 goes well :-) Ewen

A beautiful way to start the day. :-)

Twisting wire by hand? I have a battery powered screwdriver that's pretty useless as a screwdriver, but works great for twisting wires....

I feel younger watching these!

You need to put "No Worries" on a t-shirt :) Heathkit drinking game: take a shot whenever Fran says "no worries" Two shots for cold solder joints Drink the glass if she has to desolder to move a component

Loving every minute of this build. Don't change a thing on how you are producing the videos. Take your time and enjoy the build so we can enjoy it along with you. Bummer about the lost video but you learned something new about your camera so it wasn't a total loss. Thanks Fran for sharing some of your build tricks. A thanks for putting a smile on my face and bringing back some great memories.

Happy New Year and Best wishes for 2019

Fran, a 30 - 60 minute video is great for watching when on the cross trainer. You are doing a great job on this heathkit; its a work of art. But I think you should have put the three caps back inside the can. Secondly, the essential tremor is common and decreases with alcohol if you want to test that. Darts players often take a single beer before a game as a "steadier". I think its genetic. When I figure out what gene it is I'll contact you.

I've had mild essential tremors for as far back as I can remember so I feel your pain.
