Broken pipes and gushing water, never a good thing!

Frant! I like it.

Juan Nunez

I like "Fran-Blab" over "Frant".

Maybe look further out from the centre to more affordable locations.

OK Fran. I complained about you ranting a week ago about YT, but you made up for it with "Frant". I love it. Frant on... *edit* Oops I see others made it up - that's ok.

Holy Demolition Batman! That's the background noise during the down period?

It's just me and a couple other tenants left, so after hours it's like paradise. But 8am.... WAKE UP!!!

Love the “Frant” term. Random thought: maybe record/sample the construction sounds and use as backing to music? Wintergarten’s marble machine X videos does a bit of that with some of their machine build videos and it’s kinda fun. Hope you find somewhere suitable soon (does it make sense to try looking for separate, but nearby, home and workshop spaces?). Ewen

“Frant” away! I love it.

It reminds a bit of when the birds were disturbing Dave Jones in his home during a review. He'd wish they'd shut up and go to asleep so he can finish his review. That was in EEVBLOG #157 Angry Birds.

I'm a total Fan of FrantBlab videos :-)

How many Patreons do you need to afford a proper place? And will the mortgage provider accept that as a permanent form of income? Hopefully we can make this happen x

frantone

Somewhere around 2K patrons at the current pledge distribution, which will take a couple more years I would think.

Put up a Patreon survey. They're easy to do! Personally, I'd spell it "Frantz". Solely to increase the confusion/ambiguity factor. Plus, I just bumped up to the next tier. Why? Because Fran can't rant without rent!

Frant on Fran!! We all support you, hope the headache wasn't too bad. Stay positive Fran, there is a new Fran Lab out there with your name on it.

YT removing annotations, I think underlines a problem with cloud services in general, that features may change at random, breaking your work. There seems to be a shift away from cloud as people find out about these issues.

ready yet to consider a move from philly, always willing to tour you through GTA (Toronto & surrounding areas)

Geting a pack of disposable ear plugs seems like a good idea with how much noise their making now. xD Can be a lot worse, could be trying live in California. I'd need to make at least $100k/yr more than what I currently am just to begin afford to live within 50 miles of my office, and that's with the only requirement is that the place is technically habitable. And the sad part is that would be purely for housing expenses. I really need to bail on this state, to live here you either need to be already established before cost of living when insane (I'm decades too young to have done that), be rich, or be on assistance. The upside to is that compared to California, anywhere else excluding Manhattan and possibly Hawaii is much cheaper.

Trying to run a sole proprietorship business in another country as a foreign national is not something I would ever try to do.

It's all relative. At my income level the shitty cities are expensive.

Kadah

Sadly true. Any reason to have to remain in Philly? I've always lived in OC, have family, and mostly like it here, but this becoming a silly reason remain as eventually I'll be too broke to leave or stay. The cheapest properties here are over $500,000 and rent is equivalent to a mortgage. This stuff is really stressful and I'm wishing you luck in getting resettled quickly.
