Took a bit longer than I thought, but here's version 0.010.

It was originally intended to be a "mechanics" release, as I reworked a bunch of stuff under the hood to fix various snarl-ups with repeat visits and The Portly Gentleman.  Then I added Boobella because I wanted some new sexy content.  I also thought I'd get those repeat visits for Anna Boa and Suffocatrix Mamilla done, and the new material for them almost represents two new scenarios.

Here is the full changelog:

- Some ailments (fetish, enslavement) will force choices during harlot selection
- Changed semen count display to use a text description (as a trial, this might get reverted if people don't like it)
- Added new Harlot: Boobella
- Added repeat scenario for Anna Boa
- Added repeat scenario and alt ending for Suffocatrix Mamilla

A lot of this is behind-scenes stuff.

Here are the main points:

New harlot: Boobella
People have been asking for her.  She is the same character from the "Chance Encounter" story I wrote a couple of years back.  She's a bit of a mean girl bitch at heart, but she looks great and has a lovely set of boobs.

New material: Anna Boa
She gets an extra scene if you go back to her.  Unlocking that requires certain attributes, so it won't always be available.

New material: Suffocatrix Mamilla
She also has extra scenes if you go back to her.  She also has certain requirements, but they're a little easier to meet.  Visit her enough times (you can pay The Madam mulligan tokens to arrange this) and you might get a surprise ending...

Player Stats
I changed the algorithm to make the stats.  It's a little smoother - characters will either be average all over, or have strengths and weaknesses.  It's no longer possible to get all 5s or all 1s.

Semen Count Display
Is a slightly cryptic text description rather than a number.  I want players to not know for sure if they're empty.  I might change this back is people hate it, but I'm hoping it stays in place as it opens up space for other things.  The player will be able to pay the Nurse to get a better estimate of how many 'pops' they have left.  There will also be a charm the player can buy to change it to a numerical value. 

Ailments
Originally, I was going to do these after the NPC_Nurse character was added, but Boobella and reworking Mamilla gave me an opportunity to try them out first.  Ailments can be picked up off some of the harlots.  They will affect choices and might cause some tests to fail even with the right stat requirements.  You won't be told if you've picked one up, but there will be various hints and text changes.  You will work out fairly quickly if you've been Enslaved by a harlot, for example.

Very interesting and a rather tricky set of encounters. I hope as you progress with the various succubi and monster girls that there will be fewer ones that will outright kill you. That somehow there is an "out" for most of them. The stories for the filled in ones is great. Also maybe some kind of bestiary, not that gives anything away about the encounter but explanation about what some of them actually are.

All of them (apart from Morticia) will have an out where the player can have fun times and leave the room afterwards. That 'out' might not always be obvious, though. ;) Currently, some are outright killers if the player has the wrong stats. I'm planning to add an NPC that sells various potions to temporarily buff or debuff stats, so that with the right prep the player can survive those harlots as well. Although, for some runs, it will probably be better to avoid certain encounters if the player's rolled stats don't match up well. (The mulligan token was designed to allow players to escape situations where they know all 3 presented harlots will kill them given their current attributes.)

So I have played through this patch and as usual the new scenarios are really good. Haven't been able to unlock the new Anna Boa scenario yet... But guess I'll just keep trying. One thing that I have noticed is that your normal stories are usually so good because you also put a lot of emphasize on the human character and not just the demons. This always makes the character relatable. The perfect example is Hamish in "The Banquet of the Queen of the Goblins". This, in my opinion, is kinda missing in the entirety of "House of Hellish Harlots". It feels like the character is just a meatbag. In other words, the character is missing a character... Maybe you plan on changing that because I can remember the earlier version where your car dies and you get picked up by some dudes and you randomly end up at the house.

Yup. Originally, scoring was a flat value. That got broken by repeat visits. I had to track each "scored point" so the Portly Gentleman only paid out once, and I also had to fix for outcomes such as the player saving up multiple visits and then effectively getting paid double. It went from being a simple "track X, payout Y" to a good deal more complicated. If I'd have known how complex, I would have removed repeat visits. I'm glad I didn't as it does open up the opportunity for interesting sub-storylines, such as with Suffocatrix Mamilla. It did involve a lot of code hacking. Thankfully, that now seems stable and hopefully I won't need to mess around with it again. The Madam sells Mulligan Tokens if you ask her. There is an item that functions like the "I surrender" option for games like Monmusu Quest. I added it in for players to skip directly to the sexy Bad End without having to faff around lowering their semen level first. That will stop the player from being saved by the bell and Boobella will finish them off. The "I surrender" item has mutated a little from the initial plan. It wasn't supposed to, but it does cause some unique text sections with some girls. Boobella is one of them as she is normally a little crueller when inflicting the "finishing blow". When I add the Mad Doctor/Scientist NPC, one of her options will likely be to drain the player's semen completely, so a player can easily trigger and see out of semen ends with harlots (although not all of those are pleasant). For the most part I've tried to compartmentalise everything to avoid the complexity problem. Now that scoring is in place, the only thing left that might muck with existing scenarios is a 'true seeing' charm that changes the descriptions so that the player knows they are getting a lamia or arachne right from the start.

Anna is picky. Her repeat visit only unlocks with the right stats and right approach in her room. As for the main character, that's something I wish I'd put out at the very start - should the game be written in the 2nd or 3rd person. I jumped straight to 2nd person while forgetting it's always a named "Luka clone" that has the sexy stuff happen to them in the Japanese H-games. The problem with the full CYOA approach is it necessitates the character being fairly blank so the player can project themselves onto it. I don't think I can change it at this point as it would involve rewriting everything. I am thinking of making the personality traits more like regular stats, in that the player selects them at the start and they're fixed (but can be changed by potions etc like the physical stats), and maybe using that to give slight variations on text as they are now. I think the main character is always going to be a bit of a blank slate though.

I liked the new succubus. Question: Is it possible to survive the front situation with Couchella. I've been trying with a variety of stats but to no avail. The second scene with Anna Boa is tricky to get to but well worth it

BTW, i'm getting email notifications of some comments that don't appear to be here. I'm not sure if the commenter had a change of heart and deleted them, or Patreon swallowed them up. Anyway, to answer those questions: - Vete might get a double-up scene with one of the new harlots I'm working on, but will be added much later when I start to add post-room events (random things that happen in the slot where the player currently doesn't have much to do other than sell experiences to the Portly Gentleman. - I'm also iffy on the way mindset currently works. I was going to put off changing it until I rework the intro. I think I might push that it into the gift rework instead (player sets mindset at the start and it stays fixed throughout the run).

Hmm. That might be difficult. Unlike with word .docs, I don't think there's an easy way to convert this into a pdf. While the output is text, there's a fair chunk of game logic running under the surface, and I don't think that can be encapsulated in a .pdf file. What internet browser are you using and on what device? In theory, clicking on the file should open it up with your default internet browser and play it within there.

Well met Hydra, Apologies I haven't offered any feedback on the house before now - I've been trying out each version but never seem to have quite managed to type anything up It's a great concept - hitting the magic blend of solving the puzzle but also finding all the ways to fail to solve the puzzle to get to see the full range of the harlots' skills in all their glory. I've been enjoying the content of reach release and also your discussions of how you've gone through each iteration of the design. I had a lot of fun with this latest release. Boobella seems to have been a hit with everyone and I really enjoyed her scenes too - just the right (wrong?) mix of intoxicating and cruel to hit the "I really shouldn't but I can't not" vibe perfectly. Additional scenes with her would get my vote : - ) I did note one very minor typo in her content - "Boo's eyes glitter with sultry filthy" I also enjoyed trying out different things to test ailments. Once I had seen the effects of course it was obvious in hindsight - which is probably exactly what you were going for. Experimentinging to get to Anna Boa's second scene - another really good one - was also fun and in doing so, this made me realise that her first round of content had an ending that I hadn't seen. Perhaps I haven't been paying enough attention to the portly gentleman's valuation of my encounters but I wonder if there is a risk of content going unexplored because players think they've already found it all Other bits and bobs of assorted feedback: I have thought a few times that an Achievements system would be something people would really enjoy - obvious ones like "Survived Harlot X", "Succumbed to Harlot X", "Completed all Harlot X's scenarios" but there would be plenty of other possibilities for more interesting/rare scenarios, I am guessing tracking outcomes across multiple playthroughs in Twine would be impossible or nasty I also really enjoyed the Arana character and scenarios - it was one of the ones in the first version that I had a bit of trouble surviving so I enjoyed finally cracking it but also enjoyed the character, I'd also like to see more content for her You mentioned in your roadmap post that you would consider adding new patreon tiers to accomodate patreon requests for custom scenarios. I think this is a good idea and I would also suggest you consider adding a tier to let patrons vote on the harlot(s) contents to go in the next release. This would probably work best if you had a "backlog" of 4-6 harlot's content to put a poll up for and then give patrons a vote to choose one of the harlots going into the next release - that way you don't end up under pressure to write a scene that's been chosen. Of course getting to the point where you had enough backlog built up offer might be something of a challenge Thoroughly enjoying it so far and looking forward to the next installments Many thanks for putting this together for us all to enjoy and keep up the great work

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Achievements would be a fun thing. I have no idea if they are possible in Twine. If this really has legs, I'll look into it when I port it to something like Unity. Yep, giving patrons choices over scenarios is definitely a phase I want to get to. As my productivity tends to be cyclical, I definitely want to 'bank' a few harlots scenarios on the next occasion I hit high gear, but that's mainly to smooth out the release schedule, so I don't have those months where I miss the deadline completely because I'm too busy hacking code fixes. A choice of scenario ideas is probably a good way to go about it as they will be scenarios I'll likely already have sketched out and just need to be fleshed out. The risk with throwing things totally open is hitting a fetish/monster girl combo that's too far from my interests for me to feel like I can do a good job with it. I'll probably still bash myself against a wall trying to deliver anyway and then feel bad about it! My long term fix for that is to maybe open that out for other writers, maybe with some easy tools for people to write their own and slot them into the game. That's another thing that's a long way off though. Got to get the proper working alpha build with all the NPCs and house descriptions in place first!
