This wasn't the most exciting of weeks, but it was a pretty important one as I managed to clear a major roadblock that was holding back development for the 1.5 version.

I managed to incur some nasty technical debt with the UI.  I put together the demo version with the backgrounds by hacking some CSS and JavaScript last year.  Then I commissioned someone for some art for the icons (which sadly doesn't fit the overall look, so I'm back to the placeholders), which meant more hacking, and then I hacked too far and broke my display.  Whoops.

It's been in this state for a few months.  I have ported all the Tier 1 harlots over (about 35 of them), but haven't been able to test them as the screen display wasn't functional.

Last week I decided I needed to give that my full attention and get it properly fixed.  I now have a proper test area for any changes to the UI display, and another test area for the individual harlots.  This should prevent this problem occurring again in the future.  Proper Organisation, Ho!

It wasn't particularly glamorous, but it needed to be done, and now it's done.  Next week I'll be back to writing again.  It will either be continuing work on the Artificial Scylla, or starting Temptacia's scenario, whichever feels 'hot'.

Now I can, I'll also start working through the ported-over scenarios and making sure they're all working correctly.

The artwork is still coming in.  Marwmellow has sent me sketches of the unaffiliated 'helper' harlots, which is the next batch.  I've actually got quite a stockpile of harlot art now (both the smother faction and artificial beings are mostly done), so I might increase the harlot spotlights to 3-per month.  Look out for those over the next few weeks.

Definitely more of a programming than a writing week, but it's finally fixed something that needed fixing!
