Wild. Jason's relationship to CSNY is eerily similar to mine. I more than grew up with this stuff and have heard the complete and total catalog across the board, no exceptions (can't wait til they get to "Stills Alone".) My Dad is Stills first then the rest, he and I share Neil, and Mom my is C and N. I got sentimental when Jason talked about his Dad blasting 'Song of Love'. Nothing says my childhood like my Dad blasting Manassas. My Dad might be in the top 5 most rabid Stills fans in the world. I am barely exaggerating. He has something like 75% of every show he has ever played. He wore out a VHS of Manassas on German TV. He was absolutely giddy after he got to hang out with Joe Vitale once. Joe gave him a drumstick. Anyway, I absolutely love the podcast!

I am enjoying this quite a bit--playing catch up. For me, CSNY always felt like homework. The bloat. The excess. I never could get into anything outside of Neil's work, and like a lot of things, I just much prefer the 1960s versions (especially the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield). The podcast couldn't be more welcome in my life right now. I really got into Buffalo Springfield again after that box set came out, and have strangely spent the past few years going back over all this catalog and wondering what happened to Stephen Stills.
