September Portfolio Piece: Phoenix-Angel (Patreon)

Portfolio piece of the month!
Thanks again toall of you for helping me allot the time to do a personal piece a month to build my skills and try out new techniques :)

This is an idea I’ve had in my head for a long time, the idea of this MASSIVE dragon, that you almost don’t notice due to the scale at first.  Original idea was a basic knight kneeling with the sword in the ground, but then - hey why not Phoenix angel?  (and practice me some wings again and pretty colors).
I had a lot of fun with this, learned a lot, implemented some new techniques and tools (doing the grayscale on my ipad, and then applying the color masks and gradient maps with photoshop.  

I'm including the stages of the piece for you guys - initial rough sketch, photoshop-adjusted sketch with mirrored wings and some anatomy adjustments, grayscale, and final piece - fullsize and websize :)
