Arania's Patreon (Patreon)

Thank you very much for taking the time to check out my Patreon page! I wanted to explain a little more the purpose and intent for Patreon, including some of my personal goals. This is intended to be separate from my Website Donations. Patreon can best described as a virtual “tip jar” - a way for fans to show their support directly. For years, creating transformation-themed artwork has been my full time job; and in addition to commissions I provide large, free monthly updates content to my website: all without ads or membership requirements. Because I do not make any money off advertisement or membership fees, my income is nearly completely reliant on my commission work. However, donations from fans (via my website and Patreon) allow me just a bit of breathing room to do non-commission related work. I’d like to be able to budget at least a day of the month to work hard on improvement and portfolio pieces; and since I do this for a living, it's hard to justify it to myself to take time away from paid commissions to work on artwork for myself. Not only that, but there’s a lot of “cost of business” it takes to be a full-time artist: sketchbooks, inking pens, tablets, colored pencils. There’s packing materials and postage as well, for those who wants their artwork mailed to them. Additionally, all the time I spend shopping, mailing, and updating my website as well. Having income coming in from Patreon would allow me to spend the “off the clock” hours I need for some back-end housekeeping things I need to do: for example a full backup and clean refresh of my laptop. Eventually I’d like to get the funds to consult and hire a professional re-design of my website; a huge underpinning considering I have over 10,000 images spanning the course of nearly a decade. And of course, in exchange for your patronage, there’s a lot I’d love give back to you guys as well. Hopefully, the value in helping me improve as an artist is reward in and of itself, but of course there are a few perks to pledging as well! I want to interact more with my supporters; allowing those who donate via Patreon to get sneak-peaks of upcoming projects and WIPs of commissions I’m working on for the monthly website update. I'd also like to start doing a monthly VLOG where I answer questions posed to me here through Patreon. You can submit questions you'd like me to answer here through the message system and I will choose some of them to answer through the vlogs as well as just general updates on what's going on in my life, what I'm working on, and other things :) The primary purpose of this page isn't to sell things, but it's donations to support me as an artist - and the rewards are just that - my way of saying thanks for the pledge to primarily help support me to keep doing what I'm doing.
