What is the purpose of the shipping chart? Is it just for romantic couples or does it show who is related to who and what kind of non-romantic relationship they have?

Typically blank shipping charts like these are to use it to draw in all the different ways characters are tied in to keep big casts relationships straight. Like one color connection might be hates, one might be likes with an arrow in a direction. It can cover romance, but also enmities, or familial relationships.
