Hey everyone and welcome to our Patreon! Thank you so much for supporting the game, it's our dream to work on Sector's Edge full time.

For our first post we'll be sharing some screenshots of the new maps that Rocket and I are creating, as well as updates to existing maps.

Ice Station

Verc has been working on a variety of pine trees that will be distributed around the outskirts of the map. This is something we've always wanted to do, and we'll also increase the out of bounds region outside the north wall of the map so that players can use the trees for cover while flanking.

Railway

Rocket has started working on extra rooms on the sides of the Railway map, which players can spawn in and use to flank. The Breakthrough zones will be extended slightly into this lower area as the combat in these lanes is usually pretty fun. 

New Desert Map

Verc has been working on a desert city map with a huge 400x400 play area with a focus on vertical layers.

The bottom layer consists of the streets, shadowed by sails and used by players to move across the map stealthily. The building foundations contain secret passageways that lead into sidestreets and up onto the rooftops.

The second layer consists of smaller hollow buildings that rest on the rooftops, with attached sails and littered crates that players can use for cover. Inside these ruined buildings players may find weapons and mods in the Head Hunter game mode.

The third and topmost layer is the sails layer, where players can move between buildings quickly if they have the movement and parkour skills to match. Up here it is easily to spot action occuring around the map, however you are a clear target for enemies waiting in the shadows.

Canyon

Rocket has been adding the final touches to this two-part map, which features an L-shaped Breakthrough Canyon map on one side, and a Search and Destroy Mining Facility map on the other.

The Canyon consists of large vertical layers with many levels and flanking tunnels to choose from. The ice is partially see through, and players with a keen eye can use it to their advantage. With buildings built into the mountainside, this will be an exciting addition to the Breakthrough map series.

The Mining Facility is designed around the traditional attack and defence game modes popular in many other games, with the additional twist of destructible environments and increased verticaility offered by Sector's Edge; attackers can tunnel in, while defenders hide in the rafters and run along rooftops, searching for enemy movement.
