today: Tom and Sabine fail at playing "good cop/bad cop" and try "understanding parents." it was supereffective!

to be fair Sabine isn't TRYING to drive a hard bargain, she's just trying to teach what SHE was taught as a teen - but Tom knows better than anyone how hard it is to not have a parent on your side when you're not doing well, which is why he's so damn soft. In this case, that softness was super duper needed. They still haven't figured out quite how to make up for that whole Lila incident....
