still tryna bang out this upcoming update between commissions... this update has marinette backtracking because she accidentally opened up in the really raw and unpleasant way, and post-argument clarity is hitting her pretty hard, even with the delirium, and even if she was right about some stuff

on another note, I had someone tell me I was good at writing marinette as very annoying, and it honestly gave me legitimate pause. idk how to tell you this man, this is the edgy emo comic with a bunch of angst and pessimistic children. if youre getting irritated reading my emo ass marinette u can just... fly away... off to the seven seas... to the stars...

no. nope. i refuse. I reread the previous chapter to make sure i remember what i’m talking about: i think the characterization of marinette is accurate and beautiful. bout time someone who’s been through a lot gets to snap, gets to dish out some reality, gets to raise their eyebrow at someone and say “you helped turn me into this.” i think people think that it’s annoying or rude because they don’t want to acknowledge the pain of others/the truth that hurting others means consequences. It’s like customer service, its not actually rude to correct a customer in an appropriate way, its just that the expectation is that you submit so ANYTHING you say that isn’t agreeing to be a doormat is seen as backtalk. people’s expectations of others means they think politeness is submission, and it’s not, and it’s refreshing to see that represented in a character.

Marinette’s characterization is one of the reasons I still read your comic even though I don’t watch ML anymore!! She’s written beautifully!!
