Hi guys, wanted to give you a quick heads up on the new Patreon reward tiers that we're going to implement in October.

October will be the month when the first Steam Release will go live and we figured that because of that and Patreon's recent tax changes and what not, it would also be a good chance for us to update our tiers. With the growth of the game and the growth of the team, we want the Patreon tier to reflect it similarly.

Firstly, the $1 tier will be discontinued at the start of October and we will deactivate the reward tier so that anyone left still pledging will not be charged afterwards.

The $3 tier will be the new, lowest tier that you are able to pledge at and these will include weekly news updates and previews on the game's progress.

The $5 tier will be the new lowest tier that you are able to get access to the newest version of the game but this will no longer include the cheat codes or early access.

The $7 tier will be the new lowest tier that you are able to access the cheat code. Essentially, nothing about this tier and any tier above it will change.

As mentioned above, we will be releasing Alpha 0.30 on Steam mid-October at the same time as when we would for the $5 tier. This is the other option that we are providing to everyone who are looking for a more long-term option of support. We do however need to clarify that Steam updates will only happen every 2nd release.

For example;

-Patreon supporters will receive: 0.30, 0.31, 0.32, 0.33, 0.34, etc, every 2 months approx.

-Steam supporters will receive: 0.30, 0.32, 0.34, 0.36, etc, every 4 months approx.

And Lastly, we will no longer be providing new Public releases. Alpha 0.28 will be the last public version to be released and we believe that that version includes more than enough content to act as a demo, with hours of entertainment.

Thank you so much for the continued support and if you're a bit confused on what to do or about the new/old tiers between now and Mid-October, please send me a message and I'll get to you ASAP.

Love you all,

GeeSeki.

This news made my day :)

What on earth makes you think removing the game access from $3 tier is a good idea? i would not be supprised if instead of seeing people moving up to $5 tier, you will see more people just not bother supporting any more.

Similar worry, what about the possibility of semi-major revenue drop-offs? Say you price it on Steam for $30, equivalent to about ten months on the new minimum tier. Given that this game is likely a year plus from final release, is that a threat to the project's viability? Or is it better simply to have projectable money in hand / the number of lower-tier patrons is small enough so as to not hamper the project at large?

Why not keep the $3 tier, but at a more significant lag? I enjoy this game, but I'm not going to pay $60/year for it. October will be the end of the line for me.

It's good that you decided to inform everyone now. Quite logical changes and then we are waiting for October.

I hear you and totally understand. It definitely wasn't a decision that I decided on a whim. I've thought long about it for sure and have discussed it with others that this is definitely risky to do. But this wouldn't have been made if we hadn't gotten a chance to put the game on Steam. There's no set specific set in stone price just yet but it will be no more than $20usd for the full game to keep forever. Even so, $20 is the upper limit and will more likely be priced around $15usd. This is the option I would suggest for those who want to still support long-term. Thank you for your feedback.

This change was made mainly due to the changes in Patreon's taxation and the fact that we're going to be providing the game on Steam. I've been in discussion with someone who has worked with many successful creators and has multiple stats to back their reasoning behind why we should move into this new tier system. I was of course hesitant at first and definitely have the same worries about what'll be of this project. I can only trust that they have a better understanding of this than I do. With the Steam thing, we don't have a specific set in stone price but it'll be anywhere between $15 and $20usd, even $20 is still pushing what we want to provide to you. The thing with Steam is that it's a better long-term option for those who want to support the game till it's 'beta' stage plus it's shown that Steam being steam, is a platform that can reach more audiences and have a snowball effect on patronage, or so I've been told and shown. Thank you for your feedback and concern.

It was a decision not made overnight, I thought long about it and after taking some factors into account, this is what I've settled upon. I was in discussion with someone who has worked with many other successful creators and these Patreon changes are only made because of Patreon's new taxation and the fact that we're going to provide the game on Steam to keep forever. Say you are the type that really wants to support the game for a whole year. We would point you towards our Steam page which will be priced anywhere between $15 and $20usd, again. This is a one time purchase and if you choose or don't choose make additional Patreon pledges is perfectly okay as well. If this really is the line for you, I'm sorry to see you go and we do thank you for believing in us.

Porn on Steam is not something I want to do. I've given a decent amount of money to the game already and I was comfortable at $3/mo. I'm a bit bummed that after contributing to the game's creation I won't see the end of it, but that's the risk you take when you support an unfinished Patreon game.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. I will definitely revisit this in 5-6 months and see where things stand.

For a thing was good to warn people out before the changes months before, but in my opinion someone that follows the industry for years, that is super risky cause not everyone has alot cash to support the dev and raising the prices and changing dastricly the rewards wasnt because of patreon like you say, you trying to find a way to bring ur patreons to pay more to the get the rewards lets be honest here, its really risky and most likely the money will fall after october cause alot of people are pay around 1-5$ and seeing they have to pay more to get acess to something they had acess before its like getting punch in stomach cause of a greedy action (prices change has nothing to do with patreon), steam is a good and bad ideia, good cause you will get more popularity and people will have it on steam always if they deleted the game, but bad cause steam cuts 30-32% of the game price (bad for you guys but its a extra money), people are going to pay for and unfinished project (there is tons of them on steam that later on get deleted cause the dev taking forever to update means u guys better update it 2-2 or 3-3 months or else u guys lose the audience) and without any promise if the game will have a ending cause lets be honest we on this for years and the game is on a state that is shameful barely any content last year and this year and now this changes i supported your game long time ago cause i was loving the game but due to lack of content and seeing how lazy the develop was i gave up and put my money on other devs that were showing more worthy of it. I hope your system works or else you gonna have to buy a parachute cause the fall will be high enough to hurt and i hope with this steam thing u guys start working on the game seriously and putting content on the game and please no more unfinished art cause when i see that on a update for me its only showing unmotivation and lazyness, you got a good game ideia dont throw it away if you u wanna be great work for it.
