Variants and playing around (Patreon)

When I made the cover for Broken Knife, I kind of wanted a cuter Li, but the one I used was really striking, and looks good on Kaz's shoulder. I deliberately made her larger than I actually imagine her so that she would stand out more on the cover. That said, I've been playing with images because I'm trying to make an image of the map Kaz told Lianhua about (Wish me luck. If you never see it, it's because I couldn't put together the twenty pieces of it I now have into anything resembling a realistic whole.) Sometimes I get something very different from what I planned, but they're still fun. As always, I do my very best to make sure I'm not infringing on the property of any artists, and I also do significant editing of any image I use.

I didn't put too much time into it, so she doesn't blend quite right, but I actually still like the other cover better, at least as far as getting the feel of the story across, so this really is just for fun, unless you guys love it so much that you convince me to change it.

Still Li, but apparently this is what happens when you tell Midjourney to make a cute, anime-style golden dragon. She was wearing a hoodie, so I tried to make it look a little less modern, and of course I gave her golden eyes and blonder hair.
