I quietly started releasing Zoey's story from Biodiversity on RoyalRoad yesterday, and I'm going to start posting Broken Knife on Friday. I think I'm going to do four chapters on the 24th, then three on the 25th, two on the 26th, then go on with two until they're twenty behind you guys.

If I can get a bit of traction, I'm even going to invest in a couple of ads, so I can see if that has any effect. It looks like there are two types of ads on RR: 'funny' ones using a meme (basically clickbait, since it doesn't tell you anything), and 'serious' ones that give the title, stats, and a few key points like genre or tags. I may make one of each and see what works 🤷‍♀️ The bottom tier ad is $50, so as long as I don't go crazy on Black Friday, two should be feasible.

My plan is to use Biodiversity and TBK to support each other, then release Bio and hope to get more sales by mentioning it on both fictions. I expect the book to go up around Christmas, or maybe a little before.

Of course, I'll also be mentioning my Patreon, and advice from other authors is to have an end note on every single chapter, reminding people there's more here. That seems pushy to me, but if I want to keep writing full time, something needs to change, so 🤞
