I thought I'd give you higher tier patrons some of my working images for the cover. My plan is to use more of Ava's city background on the print book, and actually wrap it around the spine and onto the back.

I used Midjourney AI art generator, and these are my 'base' images. If you look closely, you can see I had to change Amythyst's face, because the AI face was just a little off. The fairy was altered to look a little more androgynous, too. I actually got some really fun, slightly creepy fairies, so if anyone is interested, I may share a few of the ones I didn't use.

My main concern is just upscaling. I had to do some pretty detailed edits to clear up artifacting after making the 72 psi images into 300 psi (yeah, that's what you need for printed covers), and you can still see it on Amythyst especially. I'm hoping it looks 'digital' enough to look somewhat intentional. Thoughts?

I did have a second idea for covers, but this already took well over 20 hours of work to generate and put together, so I'm not going to play with that right now. I might use it for book two, so we'll see!

Very nice! You might try topaz labs's gigapixel ai, which costs $100, for the upscaling. They advertise 600%, which is more than you'd need for 72 to 300dpi. The quality was decent when I tried it out. Definitely better than just a resize in Photoshop, but still had some resize artifacts.
