I'm assuming that if you enjoy LF, you have at least some video gaming experience. I (obviously) do as well, though it kind of goes in cycles. Like, I'll want to just read, then I'll watch lots of TV, then lots of anime, then play lots of games... Does it work like that for you, or do you do all of them at once? 🤔

So, besides the normal demands of Adulting  (bah humbug), I try to balance writing with whatever my current Phase of Entertainment is. (Bad grammar, I know.) But the newest Story of Seasons game was just released! Do you play? I've been playing since the SNES version back in '96. (I was very precocious...played in the womb 😂) Of course, it was rebranded a few years ago from Harvest Moon (localized by Natsume) to Story of Seasons (localized by XSeed) and all in all, even given that I've been playing for 25 years 😅, I really like XSeed's versions as they're re-releasing the original Bokujou Monogatari games as Story of Seasons.

Aaaaanyway, I've been having a hard time not bingeing Pioneers of Olive Town, which is the newest game. It's really fun! Not one of the best, but definitely up there as far as entertaining character development.

I'm supposed to be writing at least three chapters of LF each week so that you guys don't catch up, but my own gaming habits are taking me down. Fortunately, it's kid-friendly, so at least my daughter can watch and help me decide who to marry 🤷‍♀️

So, I guess I was really just curious; what kinds of games do/did you play? My husband loves First Person Shooters and various flight sims. We both like RPGs, though I think he likes MMOs a little more, while I prefer solo or local co-op. I need to figure out how to run Twitch on the Switch so I can stream it. I had one viewer when I was playing Summer in Mara!

I guess all of this is to apologize for the fact that I'm running a little behind. I've only done three chapters since I started playing PoOt, and it's been more than a week. I honestly considered waiting and posting your new chapter tomorrow sometime, but if any of you look forward to seeing it at 4am, I didn't want to let you down!

It's 12:45am right now, and if my cockatiel will stop attacking my mouse, I'll get your chapter posted. I just wanted you to know I'm always grateful for your support! 🙇‍♀️

Good night! (Morning? Oh, boy...)

My favorites are definitely single-player RPGs. I preferred "desktop" RPGs, with their keyboard-based interface, and was pretty sure I'd never like console games as much, but Final Fantasy 6 and Breath of Fire were fun games, and I loved "tactical" RPGs like Final Fantasy Tactics (the original, not so much 2) and "crafting" RPGs like Star Ocean. That continued up until I had kids, and a couple years later realized that I basically hadn't touched my PS3 since they were born. Oh well. Fallout (3+) and Elder Scrolls still managed to get played, mainly because I can play them on my laptop and there's less story to forget between play sessions. The one and only MMORPG I've played and loved was Ragnarok Online. MMOs take too much time, and are mostly geared towards party play, which requires a social life, which is too much work haha. I used to binge reading, then gaming, then anime in a similar fashion, but only reading still holds a big chunk of my time, mainly because it's hard to get a solid five-hour block to binge with now that I have kids (who I love dearly, but they don't enjoy single-player RPGs nearly as much as me).

RO was a fun game! (The original at least, not such a fan of the second version.) I mainly 'read' using a text to speech option, so I can do it while getting something else done. I'm just glad my daughter loves watching Story of Seasons (almost) as much as I love playing! Now that she can read, though, she wants to play, so the only thing holding her back is the inability to plan ahead so she can gather the right items to upgrade things. She steals the remote as soon as I go to make dinner, though!
