With the cheek armour, I think Cyberpunk 2077 had some options for the cosmetic cyberware that had the same effect on people's faces. Like metal/polymer plates or circuit-like lines.

As a person who wears armor during a LARP: - Rust... damn rust... You HAVE to dry and oil your armor afterwards and everything or the rust will stay forever (or until the armor is in pieces) - You normaly wear a gambeson under your armor (that is a heavily padded kind of jacket. As in the padding is a few centimeters thick) so that will keep you pretty warm and dry, so there won't be a problem with getting cold. - the armor is not all one piece but many serveral pieces. Imagine all the clothing you are currently wearing is made out of plastic and then you are hit by heavy rain. Sure, some of the rain will get through to you but it will not acumulate but keep sliding down (unless it get's into your socks. Then again, I have never seen anyone try armored socks ;-) ) - helmet: Yes, it is made out of metal, BUT - just like with the armor around the rest of your body - you will wear a padded cap between your head and the helmet (hard metal on your head for any lenght of time HURTS) and thus there is no real reverb. - helmet 2: Yeah... I had a helmet with cheack guards that covered the ears and you just DO NOT HEAR A THING, it is very annoying... My next helmet did not have that.
