It's a brand new show! (That's the second one this month!)

Basically, imagine an inverse Trope Talk where the whole episode is just about one media example. That's this!

Today: we begin with the pilot of Samurai Jack, and examine why it kicks so much ass.

This is an experiment, and as always we welcome your feedback! Let us know if you want to see more of this, what you like, what you didn't like, and anything you think we should change for next time.

Cool! I saw recently Blue's video on samurai and the Samurai Jack introduction reminded me of how awesome that show was, super excited for this new video series/show :)

Actually, tiny red kind of blended into the chair and I in fact did not notice her until she spoke up.

Oh my god I was just thinking how cool this would be at work before I got the notification

You two play off each other really well! This works as a fun duo that also keeps you both focused on a subject. You could do variable lengths on these as well. A special edition Avatar: the Last Air Bender series? You talk about each of Gaang members and highlight your favorite aspects of their character writing.

Yay! I’m in the video credits! Also a really fun look at a way to show instead of tell with story.

Love this format! The trope talks are deep dives on tropes, but it's equally enjoyable focusing on a single story. Also, this opens up the possibility for what I've wanted for a while: an episode all about ReBoot (fingers crossed)

You enjoy talking about the things you really like and it really shows. That's why I enjoyed the new format. For my point of view I like listening to you guys geeking about about stuff. Also one of the main reasons I watch you is that it can give me different perspective on some things (historical/philosophical/mythological/story telling). And I do think that these two things apply very well to this. Because chances are I) I get to hear you geeking about the things I like II) I get to gain new perspective on something I like II) I get to learn something I might like but I didn't watch/consume Assuming these are easier to make, they are also not any less fun to watch I hope to see more content similar to this. OH! Do an Avatar one and invite Hello Future Me. Please?

That was fun!

Love stuff with you two together but with that feeling of a trope talk or history summarized

(I wrote a comment and it's gone? Sorry for the late feedback!) I found this to be too lost in the middle in terms of target audience. For people like me who don't know the story and are getting the breadbox summary as I watch, it's hard to appreciate any deep dive because, well, I'm busy digesting the shallow. Turnwise, if this was a story I already knew, I think all the time spent explaining the basic premise and plot beats would weigh it down while waiting for the new deep stuff. So, I think this would work if you aim it mostly for viewers who already know the story. I think it could still be accessibile for a new audience with a much shorter "for those of you who don't know" recap, but I'm not sure. I also think a show like this would benefit a LOT from being scripted rather than the podcast-y dialogue format. I found it a little to long and rambly for the points being made, but I get that this isn't meant to be as much an educational vid as a fun vid, and for that, it seems to be working for a lot of people. Personally, if it stays as it is I'll watch episodes on a story I know, but not to learn about new ones. That said, I really love that you guys are trying new things. Past experiments have been interesting (I miss the Summer Stupidity Media Reviews (wow, Gods of Egypt) and City Reviews), and I'm keen to see how these ones turn out. Thanks yet again for all the work you do! (+ scratchies for Cleo)
