That experience came in handy as he wrote The Muqaddimah, a genre-defining masterwork of Historiography — not just retelling the events of the past, but explaining their causes and effects through the lens of human behavior and sociology. Just finished my political theory class today and it was just Europeans we studied all semester. This video makes me even more upset than I was before that we didn’t look at anyone outside of Europe because this guy’s ideas are really cool to hear about
