FREEEEDOMMM! — Except not really because Braveheart is trash-garbage and we really need to get with something less blatantly falsified. Like the Outlaw King! That movie is an actually-good movie that's actually accurate to the history. Even Shadiversity thought it was accurate and he's extremely particular about his medieval historical realism. Also Chris Pine. Can't argue with Chris Pine playing the lead.

ANYWAY, this video was a joy to make, had a lot of fun with this more realistic style of map, and we'll see how I can use this technique in the future.

Extra Scotland fun fact that I didn't have space for in the video: a "plaid" is any general cloth, while a "tartan" describes the classic Scottish patterns (nearly every major house has one). So calling the pattern "plaid" is the loose equivalent of calling argyle" as "socks".

Fun fact about Kilts, I couldn't fit this in the video anywhere, but basically Scots used to wear these big complicated vaguely-toga-like wraps of tartan plaid starting in the Renaissance, but in the 1720s one guy said "This is too complicated, take the top part off but keep the bottom half and just attach it with a belt — and behold, the Kilt as we know it was born.
