This is a $20-tier reward commission for Patron Morreth De'Alean, a map of Napoleon's French Empire at its greatest extent, in June of 1812, juuuuust before ruining everything by deciding to invade Russia. Tisk tisk, when will those silly kids learn.

This map includes all territories allied with Napoleon, so while Austria-Hungary wasn't part of the French Empire, it's being looped in here.

I tried to see how far I could push the design of this one. The general palette is a classic French Tricolore, with a patterned velvet sea and gold-dusted marble land checkered by the fleur-de-lis. Oh, and of course there's the French imperial coat of arms chilling in the corner. Overboard? Absolutely. But so was Napoleon so I say it's PERFECT.

Today was a good day for Blue's map obsession.

Enjoy!

In the middle of what Mike Duncan called the "whack-a-mole" phase of Bonaparte's career. And unfortunately for him, most of those moles were on opposite sides of Europe. XD Blue, I have to ask. Do you use some kinda special software for these? If so, what is it? I'm working on a fantasy series and I wanted to make maps both for my own sake and for reader consumption.

I use a program from NASA called G-Projector, which let's me look at the Earth from different projections and get the right angle. And then I take it into Photoshop and go absolutely nuts on textures and layering. I freehand all of the borders with the help of videos chronicling "History of XYZ: Every Year" from channels like EmperorTigerstar and Ollie Bye. It's a process but it's really fun :)

Thanks dude. I'd leave a couple suggestions for topics, but I can't do the higher tiers. Maybe once I get out from under my car payments.
