Messaging Errors for New Patrons (Patreon)

Hi all,
Some of you may have noticed that Patreon is acting wonky at the moment. New patrons are having a hard time sending and receiving messages.
After speaking with Patreon support, the issue seems to be a backlog in processing payments, with the result that the ability to send and receive messages (which can only happen after the initial payment gets processed) is delayed.
We're sorry for this inconvenience, but hopefully everyone new should be able to send and receive a message after a couple days' time.
