This would have helped me out so much in school. I always had a talent for writing but essentially outlines and editing were my downfall. I had to seriously work on both when I started trying to write professionally. I finally learned it (my first book is coming out in March) but man, it would have been so much easier if teachers taught how and why to edit, outline, read and all of that. It feels like our school system really is putting the cart before the horse sometimes.

Reading my essays aloud wasn’t a thing I picked up until college... definitely helps the editing process though!
