Change to Subscription Billing - New Pledgers (Patreon)

This week the membership billing on our Patreon account has been updated from Monthly Upfront where your first payment is taken on the day of the sign up and then the first of the month going forwards (Pacific time), to Subscription where your first payment will still be taken on the day of the sign up but then every 30/31 days after that keeping the date mostly the same month to month. From our understanding this will only impact new pledgers after the change and therefore everyone with something existing will still remain as the 1st of the month, although you would be able to cancel and repledge on your preferred day if there is a better day in the month for you. For those who upgrade/downgrade the date will continue to remain the same as it was previously too. If you want to double check what your date is currently set as this can be accessed in Settings -> Memberships .

The following is taken directly from the Patreon Help Centre on the subject:

With subscription billing, paid members pay when they join a creator’s membership and renew monthly on that same date on UTC. Please note that you may be charged up to 24 hours beforehand due to time zone differences.

If you join a creator’s membership on the last day of the month, your payment date will be on the last day of the next month. For example, if you join on 31st January during a leap year, your next charge date will be 28th February. You’ll be charged on the 28th of each month moving forward.
