loving the DiU content, definitely my favourite part. The reason some of the stand names are different is bc of copyright. They are based on the music that the author Araki listens to such as Pink Floyd, e.g. Crazy Diamond and Echoes. This was all changed due to copyright, however the original version you were watching (with the funky subtitles) was the blu-ray with way less censorship, and no name changes as well as improved visuals later in the part where they stuffed up a bit for a few scenes. I highly recommend watching that version, as it is a better quality overall.
