The struggle! We have a sickie sickie sick sick house, it's breaking my heart that my kids are sick for Christmas and I can feel it coming for me, but I'm refusing it.  This movie was actually more enjoyable than I thought it would be, and I think it may be my favorite Tim Burton film I've seen? it was weird but heart warming?? However, I don't know if this is a "Christmas movie" guys haha... still fun though!

I'll write more about it tomorrow, but I wish you all the Very Merriest of Christmases!

Hmmm...what to do, what to do? I LOVE Popcorn in Bed, but I HATE Edward Scissorhands... I agree with others that Ed Wood is worth watching. For me, it's the only good Depp/Burton movie. I think Depp, and Burton actually, are wildly overrated. But I know that isn't a popular opinion.

This may not be a ‘Christmas’ movie, but it was on a poll and I didn’t want to miss an opportunity for Cassie to see the movie. Plus I love watching Wynona dancing under the snow Edward made. Fun facts: Johnny and Wynona were a couple when this was filmed and he said it was difficult because he would accidentally cut himself. The actor who plays the boyfriend is Anthony Michael Hall from The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science

I enjoyed your reaction. This wasn’t on my Tim Burton favourites list when I was a kid but it was a highly enjoyable rewatch. Alan Arkin in particular is always a highlight. My favourite Depp is Dead Man (a sort of psychedelic western) but one I believe you would enjoy is Nick of Time (a tense action thriller). A very different gothic romance that has a lot of snowy winter feels is Crimson Peaks. I’d love to see a reaction to that movie.

Another Tim Burton film you'd enjoy is Big Fish. It's another romantic fairytale.

Godzilla Jones

I knew you'd like this one. Now do young Tom Cruise in LEGEND. My favorite Johnny Depp movie is always going to be Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas directed by the inestimable Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame. I'd love it if you did a bunch of Gilliam movies. I don't know if you'd *like* them necessarily but you would no doubt find them interesting and your reactions would certainly be gold. LEGEND you would love. If you don't, I'll eat a bug.

Finally got around to watching this reaction. I haven't seen this movie in so long, I had pretty much forgotten most of it, and the stuff I did remember made me wonder why it was in a Christmas poll. Johnny Depp was excellent in this movie. It kind of reminds me of his performance in Benny & Joon (1993) with the minimal dialog. In fact I'm going to watch it right now! 🍿 P.s. Another Johnny Depp movie I like is Mortdecai (1995). It's a slapstick comedy also starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor and Paul Bettany, to name a few. Excellent movie. Highly recommend it.
