As if the movie wasn’t dramatic enough. Cassie’s reactions were just as thrilling and suspenseful.

I’ve always thought it was too long and watching the YouTube edited version sort of confirmed it as I thought the film was better watching a shorter version. But regarding the Oscars Jake Gyllenhaal in Southpaw definitely deserved at least a nomination as I actually thought both him and Matt Damon (who did get a nomination for The Martian) put in better performances than Leo even though he did deserve a nomination. But we all have our own options

Hmmm... interesting opinions here. My perspective though is that it is kinda strange to give anything more than a nomination to a film where one person is by themself for ages without much emotional range. I think an oscar worthy film needs to have a more complex plot with more emotional interactions between people or if there is only one person for most of the time it needs to go deep into mental illness so that at least the story can have more happening.
