Michael and Phyllis Selby

Grant was, along with Clark Gable, made of the stuff that made my grandma swoon. The list of leading ladies Grant appeared with is a list of the most famous actresses of the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. “Arsenic and Old Lace”, 30’s screwball comedy. “People Will Talk”, the most unusual story you will ever see. Mature 50’s comedy. “To Catch a Thief”, Hitchcock lighthearted thriller. Grace Kelly and Grant’s chemistry sizzles. “Operation Petticoat”, WWII comedy based on a true story. Also starring Tony Curtis. “Houseboat”, Comedy starring Sophia Loren. “Charade”, a mystery inside an enigma. As Hitchcock as it gets and Hitch had nothing to do with it. Audrey Hepburn dazzles. “Father Goose”, another WWII comedy with Leslie Caron.

Masterpiece Hitchcock. Probably Hitchcock’s best movie. Every new viewing decades later is revelation of great script, acting chop & superb cinematography
