“Did?” “Was?” “Yep, Yep”. 😂

In addition to being the prospective mother-in-law in Crazy Rich Asians and a bond girl, Michelle Yeoh made a lot of martial arts movies in her early days in Hong Kong films. Some of us still think she was the best female action star ever, so of course for us there's an extra level to watching her discover the martial-arts-movie-star version of herself in this film.

Also: If it took you until 31:45 to recognize JLC, I guess she earned that Oscar. Her first ever nomination, btw. You should definitely check her out in A Fish Called Wanda (1988), a great comedy with Kevin Kline and some of the Monty Python alums.

Love this movie, it really helped me anytime I felt overwhelmed. Very sweet and crazy Movie🤟💖.....Multi award wins all deserved. 👏👏👏👏👏P.I.B. nice touch with the text graphic at end 'part 3' ✌😎👍

First time I saw it, I was stunned, too. Then I saw it in a theater with some friend and it made a lot more sense! I'm very glad, after all the movie put you through, you liked it anyway!

Robert Nelson

Horrible movie, great reation.

I must really be out of touch with reality if I think I can still make a comment on this stream without someone making a snide remark about it. Just sayin'.......🤔

Richard Maurer

I would say many regard her as the best female action star ever. I can't even think of any real competition.

Your editor deserves praise for their work on this movie. I mean the editing is top notch on the channel in general, but it must have been a challenging task to edit such a complex film as this, while preserving its essence. Not to mention going the extra mile, like creating matching overlays for the on-screen subtitles. 👏

Does your brain have a limit to how much information it can hold?

It was ok. I think it was overrated for what it was. Did Jamie Lee Curtis deserve the best supporting actress for this? I think it was a case of she's been around for a while, probably personally knows half of all the academy voting members and got the nod. The daughter did a better job and was one of the nominees. Kerry Condon in the banshees of inisherin and Hong Chau in the whale were both excellent and all three deserved it more imho.

Cynthia Rothrock gave her a run for her money. She was in Yes, Madam! with Michelle Yeoh way way way back

Richard Maurer

I've seen a couple of Cynthia's films. She never really became well known outside martial arts movies so I wouldn't consider her real competition for Michelle Yeoh.

Richard Maurer

I tend to agree about Jamie Lee Curtis. While I think she was good in this movie she was most likely given a "lifetime achievement award" for being in movies for so long. Stephanie Hsu, who played the daughter, definitely was more important to the film and deserved the award more.

Happy Hanukkah

1:13 "I am going to watch everything, everywhere, all at once." Hmm. I'm concerned that you might burn yourself out... Bad-dumm-tss. 1:45 "Carly, sometimes, is wrong." Gasp! How dare you?!?! 2:49 "We have the best funnest community right there [Patreon], and we are having disaster days next week." I'm getting mixed signals here. 7:23 The one universal truth. :-)

26:53 "Please don't do gross things." 🤣 I flashed back to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFj_vFx8Tm0&t=699s

I thought this movie was okay, but not as good as everyone hyped it up to be. It felt like it went out of it's way to be weird imo.

Uncle Phoenix

“Good Luck, Star Fighter.” (1984)

Rick Moreno

The genius of this movie isn't that it's a multiverse or a sci-fi movie, but that it is an emphatic statement in favor of existentialism over nihilism, and actually gets into both philosophies fairly well! Thanks for watching this one, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Russell Teo

One of the very rare Oscars & Globe winners movies where picky-audiences in Northern California actually walked out of the cinemas during noon matinees screening, some within 15min. Rank along Jerry McGuire & Monster Ball in term of underserved Oscars

Jim Finley

Anyone who quits on a movie that quickly has a closed mind and is pretentious rather than sincerely interested in the art. I don't always agree with the Academy, but this time I think they got it absolutely right. This film is brilliant.
