Hey everyone! Here is the full reaction to "Can't Buy Me Love". This was one of the movies I had pulled out of the pillow case and I couldn't be more happy about it! It was my kind of story filled with all the cheesiness haha. Hope you guys enjoy!

Great reaction Cassie!! 1st off there are 2 Cant Buy Me Love songs one by The Beatles in this movie and 1 by The Supremes you were singing both versions so great job on that! This was a great movie back in the 80s Patrick was just getting started in his career and it was a great jumping point to his career and yes he still looks the same! Unfortunately Amanda Peterson died back in 2015 after she had a hysterectomy surgery and was prescribed Gabapentin and died from an overdose. Yes she was very beautiful and was a great actress but this is definitely your type of movie and there are some other ROMCOM movies from the 80s Im sure you would love! Great to see you get the ending you wanted loved your reaction!!

Amy Dolenz who appears as one of Cindy's more distant friends in the beginning and end of the movie, was gearing up for her own teen romcom about two years later, She's out of control. Kinda with the same theme, geek turns popular. Not as good as this one though.

I love this movie, and I'm so happy you reacted to it. I wanted to make a comment as soon as I watched the reaction, but I got distracted by something else and forgot. Hopefully, I'm not leaving the comment so long after that you can't remember the parts I'm referring to. I wanted to explain the face paint Patty and Barb were wearing in the kitchen scene at school. I think you asked what that was about. I'm 99.999999% sure that's a reference to a popular 80's girl's cartoon called Jem and the Holograms. It was really big at the time this came out, played every weekday along with He-Man, which I mentioned before. The show was about a female rock band, and had a big focus on glamor and style. I loved the show as a kid. Anyway, the girls (and the rival female band, the Misfits) all wore makeup like that. It's all so similar, there is no way it can be anything else other than a Jem callback. Patty (the one with the super curly perm), also had a hairstyle and way of dressing that is very similar to Jem and her band. I had her hair as a teen. Also, Jem has a catchphrase at the time. She and the members of the band would say everything was "Outrageous!", or "Totally outrageous!" If If you watch one of the beginning scenes, the one in Cindy's bedroom where it shows the lifesize image of Bobby that you commented on, you can see the word "Outrageous" written on her wall. It's written in a very Jem-esque style. If you end up ever watching one of the movies I recommended to you, Girls Just Want to Have Fun, it has a similar callback by a young girl in it. I'll be curious to see if you catch it. Oh, one more thing. She was so desperate over the outfit not only because it was her mom's, and her mom would have freaked, but because it was worth a thousand dollars. it would be worth a lot more today. Great reaction, Cassie.

Oh, one more thing I saw as I'm rewatching this. You asked if schools were this clique-ey. Some were. I went to a lot of schools, and some were worse. I was the nerd in school, and I also had a disability, which at the time I went to school (around the same time this movie came out) was an automatic ticket to loser town with literally no way out. I got jumped if I went down the same hall as the cool kids. Or if I sat in the wrong seat in class. If I sat in the wrong part of the bus, the places that were considered for the popular kids. I had kids chase me down halls if they saw me. The same thing happened to other "nerds" I knew. Trust me. Sometimes they were this bad. I mean, this movie is sort of an exaggerated version of it, and my experience was extreme, but not by much.

I'm so sad, I can't get this to work no matter what version I click on :( I rented the movie to watch along and everything

Hey Michelle! So sorry! It should be working now, try again. We are switching everything from Vimeo to YouTube and it's taking longer than expected.

10/2/2022: Cassie I think download link is to the YT version, it is only 31 minutes. The Direct link is the 1:35 min video but download link says full version but just 31 min video was uploaded to google drive not full video file. No worries, just a little mix up as y'all move off vimeo. No rush, fix when y'all get a chance.
