It's A Wonderful Life - Live Watch-A-Long (Patreon)

WHEN: TODAY 12/19/20 @ 4PM MST (Countdown Timer)

Hey everyone! Tonight Carly and I will be watching "It's a Wonderful Life", live for the first time with all of you! We won't be looking at chat during the movie, but will chat for a few minutes before we start and join in the discussion afterwards. 

In order to watch along, you'll have to have an Amazon Prime Video account and link that to your Twitch.tv account. Here is a guide  on how to link them together. If you don't have Amazon Prime Video, you can sign up for a 30 day trial if you wanted to give it a try.

Once you've connected your accounts, just hop on over to my twitch channel - twitch.tv/popcorninbed - we'll get started and be watching the movie together! The movie will sync together for everyone. For those that don't have Prime Video or can't get it, we'll try to provide a live timestamp for where we are in the movie so you can watch. 

If you have any questions, post them here and I'll try to help!

I really hope they enjoyed it. Hopefully they understand why we wanted nothing distracting them from George Bailey's life story. All of it has profound meaning by the end.

@ Rich this is what I was worried about. it's like "k movie's done BACK TO THE CHAT" this is the kind of movie where the ending should be dwelled on and mused over because it is so well earned and satisfying. I haven't seen this reaction yet but I hope they got to soak it in...

I've watched this movie so many times as it's my all time favorite. Managed to synchronize it pretty well "manually" as it wasn't available on Prime in Canada. Just waited for a moment, when young Mary whispers in George's ear, I knew the girls would respond to and pressed play. Was a real treat watching it together for the 1st time... Thanks Merry Christmas

They enjoyed it very much, and in the YT chat for the Muppet movie Cassie said she was still thinking about It’s a Wonderful Life. Carly said this will become a Christmas watch every year.

It's very strange to me that Amazon doesn't allow cross region watch parties. I'm in the UK, and I rented the movie on Amazon specifically for this, but when the party started it said it is not available in my region. I'm not sure if this means it's not available on Prime or not available on Amazon. As I type this I realise it probably means because it is not on Prime in the UK we could not watch along ? I don't know. We need to try this with a movie that is available on Prime in both regions! :)

Dirk, I'm trying to research this, but I think Amazon watch parties are limited to regions... I don;t like that. There are other 'watch party' type services I hope we can explore together in the future.

Yes, I suspect you are right, that it is region locked. Pity. Don't worry about it though, it wasn't a criticism. Bad Amazon!
