Hey everyone! Here is the YT edit for Prisoners which will premiere in a few hours. I was wanting to have Dune out today but because of the difficulties I'm not sure it will make the best reaction video. Instead here's another Dennis Villeneuve movie that I watched a while ago but never posted to YT because it's basically a long panic attack haha.. We'll still see if we can salvage Dune and post it to YT at a later date though.

Direct link in case the above player doesn't work.

Link to the full reaction for "Prisoners".

You know, I can't find it now but at some point (and I think it was recently) somewhere you asked for feedback about how to improve your videos and I had nothing to contribute because I couldn't think of anything. Your videos are so delightful and I enjoy watching them so much that I think they're perfect as is. This particular video has made me realize that there is something you do sometimes (though not always) that I think I is a good idea abd I prefer when you do it. So I'll leave my feedback here because... it's as good a place as any I guess. Since you go into these movies completely "cold" (with little or no knowledge beforehand), your responses are honest and genuine... but sometimes I have noticed that in-between finishing the film and your final "summation" of the experience, you do a little research which gives you a chance to have any lingering questions answered, any things you are unsure about confirmed/denied and just generally clarify/solidify your own ideas and sentiments regarding the film. I don't know how much time you spend doing this, but (for me personally) it makes your final thoughts all the more astute, informed and satisfying. I remember you did it with some of the Star Wars films, for example, and it helped "wrap up" those screenings and prime you for the next installment. I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like you did it with this movie and I think it might've helped you "conclude" the experience better. I realize not every film calls for this level of "debriefing," but the ones that are more challenging/demanding viewings could benefit I think from a small degree of follow-up once the movie is over and maybe even provide you with more things to say at the end of the video Anyway, just my two cents. Keep up the good work. :-)

You are on point here, but consider this: she first recorded this in May, and it's been on Patreon exclusively since then, only editing for YouTube this week to fill the schedule. I think back then she didn't do what you mentioned. But otherwise, I agree with your comment, and have enjoyed how she's grown in content creation while maintaining the integrity of her "brand." (Basically just being herself.)

The fact that Alex never says a word, despite everything that Jackman does to him, is a true testament to his terror of his “aunt” and what a monster she was to him in her “war against god”.

Yeah, I knew this was an older video that they put up in place of DUNE, so I wasn't really expecting the kind of debriefing that she would do later. I just mentioned it because it wasn't until I watched this video that I realized that was something that I preferred. Going forward, this is exactly the kind of video that would benefit from a little post viewing research.

Any Votes for Cassie to put Medicine Man with Sean Connery on the list.

This film is amazing on every level but one that I probably won't re-visit. It's such a tough watch.

JJ Actual

Dang, that's a classic. It was a big deal in it's time.

it's a must-watch/never-again type of movie. like 12 years a slave, room, 21 grams, babel, traffic, biutiful etc. high drama, important films, but fun... not so much

Paul Dano is a very good actor with great range. He played the younger version of the psycho in Taking Lives. Great straight man comic relief in The Girl Next Door….which is very funny. Now he’s dabbling in directing.

Wow, you really need a happy ending.

Michael_AP

You definitely need a change of pace. Invite Carly over and watch something like: A fish called Wanda Nothing to loose Galaxy Quest Movies that you both can watch for a fun evening. Orrrrrr may I suggest "It could happen to you" from 1984. A RomCom of the kind you love. Invite Carly over ha ha. You are both gonna love it. Besides we need to see your reactions to one of those movies you hunger for ;) Although the movie is only loosely based on it, there really was a cop and waitress..... I'm not gonna say more ;)

Wanda would be great - that was on my shortlist if I'd won the drawing. Galaxy Quest should wait til she's seen some Star Trek though.

Michael_AP

Cassie already knows her Spock hand sign. That's more than enough basis for watching Galaxy Quest. LOL I don't understand the need for watching Star Trek to see this movie.

Katie Jackson

I love Galaxy Quest and It Could Happen To You. I'd love to see Cassie react to Star Trek but, where to start? The Original is great but the first movie is not a good way to introduce someone to this franchise. Maybe a synopsis and then straight to Wrath of Kahn.

Prisoners is much harder to watch than The Exorcist. I'm sure that film would be cartoonish by comparison. I just launched a competing channel in Boston called "Popcahn Faughts in Bed," and so far nobody is interested. :) Just kidding. Love your content! I think you would enjoy watching Kung Fu Hustle.

The prisoner of second Avenue is a 70s' classic

In the description it has a link saying “link to the full reaction”, you click it and it’s the YouTube edited version? I’m so confused..

I think aside from The Shining, this was probably your second best reaction. Only because it dealt with real life horror. Kudos for choosing this one. Denis Villeneuve is a visionary director. You’ve seen almost all of his mean stream movies (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Dune and now Prisoners). You should definitely give “Sicario” a try now. It’s just as intense as Prisoners but definitely worth the watch.
