I kind of loved this slice of life movie, a sweet group of women who I just want to hang out with. It reminded me of Gilmore Girls and Father of the Bride, and it felt like a comfort movie besides the tragedy that just about undid me. It was a special one.

[Full Reaction] Steel Magnolias (1989)

Shirley MacLaine is a main character in The Apartment (1960) you reacted to. She was the young pretty elevator operator who connected with the Jack Lemon character. Notting Hill is a Top 3 Julia Roberts movie for me. While I didn't get some of the banter in this movie, I enjoyed the ensemble cast and their performances. I lived several years in Louisiana. The "Steel Magnolia house" (Cook-Taylor House) is near downtown Natchitoches, Louisiana, and has been converted into a bed and breakfast. There is a Steel Magnolia Film Tour (Self Guided) in Natchitoches. https://www.natchitoches.com/itinerary/steel-magnolia-film-tour-self-guided

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Cassie needs to split in two through osmosis to see all the film/ TV material coming her way, lol!

This is one of my favorites! Louisa (the grouchy lady with the dog) is Shirley MacLaine, and she's a legend. She's in one of my favorite romantic comedies of all time, "The Apartment". I highly recommend it. Also, if you want another great one with Daryl Hannah, "Roxanne", is really fun.

Jesse, you are in luck! Cassie has reactions to both "The Apartment" and "Roxanne" here on Patreon.

IDK if this helps, but the story is based off a true story which I am sure someone has pointed out, but the brother of Susan (Shelby in the movie) wrote the play about how they used laughter to deal with her passing. The real life brother plays the priest at Shelby's wedding. He also shared that his parents were on set during the movie and when asked if they wanted to leave the set during the hospital scene his mom said she wanted to stay to see Julia wake up and walk away because she never got to see her daughter do it.

if you wanna see another Shirley MacLaine (Ouiser) movie, (she's got a BUNCH of classics, but) I recommend IN HER SHOES. It's her, Toni Colette, & Cameron Diaz.

Randolph Tirazona

One of my mom's favies! So is "Terms of Endearment" (1983)!

Y'all would love Fried Green Tomatoes great reactions today,

As others have said you ladies need to watch "Fried Green Tomatoes" now. These are two films that you can't watch one without the other. And yes you need to watch FGT together, Carly don't let you sister watch it by herself.
