This episode was hilarious. I was laughing the whole time! There was too many good moments to pick which ones to talk about so just know I found basically the whole episode funny! I'm happy Lorne is finally getting some sleep lol Though, I don't know how I feel about this new development at the end between that one guy and Fred... We'll see how it goes!

Stargazer1682

This is one of the rare instance where I don't mind a franchise show ripping off one of its own prior stories, because I do feel like this episode edges out "Something Blue" eve so slightly. Don't get me wrong, the Buffy episode is great, but this episode executes the premise better by being more subtle. In "Something Blue," every time Willow made a command her eyes flashed and we knew something was going on and the problems were more overt. "Life of the Party" allows the circumstances to simmer, which I think is is a great added layer. They laid the ground work, then gave us the payoff.

With Eve, I think her encounter with Angel when he gets out of the shower is her attempt at a power play. She was trying to catch him off guard to make him uncomfortable. His response in that scene amounts to the same thing, where he's completely unphased by Eve's presence, so as to not give her the satisfaction (so to speak) of allowing her to rattle him. They're both trying to see which of them will flinch first. That even goes back to their first encounter in the season 5 premiere, she comes in all big and boisterous, bringing the apple to be ironic; and Angel takes a bite without hesitating. So the way this episode ends is appropriate, because it's the same dynamic. Angel trying to actually talk to her on a basic human level, but Eve still doesn't want to show weakness, so she brushes it off with her line about "you think this has never happened to me before? I went to UC Santa Cruz." - but the change in her demeanor when she looks away, I think, is an indication of her embarrassment; she was shook by all of that happening, but she kept up a brave face in front of Angel so as not to show him a sign of weakness.
