Oh. Hello!

Here's some lineart and work in progress background work for the Dune print.
The process on this one, possibly more than any print so far, was a colab between myself and Maki, with paintovers and alterations flying back and forth on every subject from poses and expressions to lighting, mood and composition. The current almost finished version I have open in Photoshop has a ton of shading on the characters and a nice, moody late evening rendering for the background after Maki went and studied sand dunes for ages and fixed that up.
We might still add in some ships and sandcrawlers and crowds, etc.

So hopefully that gives you a taste of the work process on the prints, which are a lot more collaborative than you might first think! So thank you to Maki for always helping me and really making images pop. The original idea I had (below) was a lot less dynamic, as you can see, so Maki's input really does make the difference betwen "OK" and "That's actually really cool," as well as making up for the stuff that I just can't do (especially when it comes to character acting in animation, which you'll be able to see on full display in the Monday film).

OK, back to work now!

-Paul
