You’ve been hearing mentions of the “SUPER SECRET” project, and I’m here to announce it’s not quite a secret anymore.

This is Maki reporting Project Monday is a short, ambient sci-fi fan film that was in preproduction and we are now entering the main meaty phase. When the keyframes are inked, then more streaming will commence!

Street Fighter is still in the works, but this film is good practice in fine-tuning Otaking’s work pipeline and introducing new habits from my background to help develop a smoother, faster and efficient pattern of checking off tasks and heightening art principles.

It’s a long story but the point of this smaller film is to take the good habits and apply them to the Street Fighter pipeline.

If you’ve been keeping tabs, you’ll know we’ve completed:

- script

- designs

- voices

- storyboard

- keyframes

Otaking adds “Whereas previously I've made short films by basically just animating whatever scenes I feel like and slapping them together at the end into a "finished" film, with this one we have fully scripted, storyboarded and animatic-ed the whole thing and are now well into inking and colouring. In other words, the project is a way of bringing my previously haphazard animation process up to professional standards.”

It’s a fan film, in space; there are many possibilities in space.

I wouldn’t want to spoil anything because I think it’s a pretty good script and Otaking has done some really nice lighting and visuals that deserve to be experienced fresh with no assumptions.

Hopefully all those words resonate with your interests. We’ve also been very happy with the feedback we’ve gotten about the postcards recently sent out. As this project continues, we’ll be giving out rewards as we have been but also look forward to planning for bigger and better swag.

It took me this long to realize that that's the ship he made the tutorial with.
