Vaillante V8 (Legacy BM) - addon for V8SCorsa - Assetto Corsa (Patreon)

Interesting fact is, once upon a time Vaillante  team aimed to expand their name in Oceania region. Well known French automobile manufacturer and racing team in USA and European countries had a small share on Australian market. To get more familiar with how thigs are going on there, the only choice with huge audience was V8 Supercars series. 

Because Vaillant had only own production of sport coupes, they had to choose side party car chassis to built racing car for this one of the best and excitement championship in the world. To compete with hell of a rides like Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon and Nissan Altima (Nissan was always good on Aussie market), Jean-Pierre Vaillant (head manager and Michel older brother) opted for Subaru manufacturer. Light weight, well seized, simply made and comfortable sedan Legacy BM was chosen to be their catana in the upcoming battle.

The biggest atmo displacement factory engine for Legacy was 3.6 Liter n/a 6 cilinder boxer. And of course 2.5 Turbo version also was out of V8 regualtions. So Vaillante decided to use thier own newly made V8 big block (specailly for US market and petrolheads). That is how Vaillante V8 Race prototype was born. 

A tiny lack of power was easily comensated by perfectly flowered Subaru chassis. Even rear seats of the car (that weight no more then 20kg) were left to make ring taxi for interested audience. And what they got by the end? 

After joining V8 Championship by middle of the season, french legend Michel Vaillant #13 and his american best friend and professional driver Steve Warson #11 dominated two most important races in the season: Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600. "Gran Chelem" was earned alongside with groving popularity of Vaillants in Australia. And now we also can enjoy of their racing child in our beloved Simulator.
