A Message From Dmitri (Hi-Res) (Patreon)

Eric taps out a code on the courier ship's keypad to re-secure it and then hops on his hoverbike and takes off back to the Akuma Kuroi Maru. The large rear cargo bay door opens to admit Eric as he approaches the ship and he flies inside and comes to a stop. Eric dismounts and checking that the cargo door has already closed again, he approaches a shipping container and sets the metallic cube on top of it.

"Okay, it seems to be tuned to me and I think I twist the top since it now appears to be unlocked."

He lays a palm on the top of the device and gently twists to the right. The cube's upper half begins to rotate on it's own and a beam of blue light shines upwards, "Hologram," Eric says softly as the ghostly holographic form of his partner, Dmitri appears above the cube and his recorded message plays.

"The transport container was delivered safely to our client and I got away without being detected."

Eric frowns slightly and nods as he listens.

"But Kwan's got me boxed in now, so I'm going to ditch the courier and let him collect me. He'll be dogging me all the way back to our rendezvous point if I don't," Dmitri's image smirks.

"So, I'll know once you've seen this," Dmitri's image taps the side of his temple with one finger. Eric realizes that Dmitri has likely set a subetheric transmission to give him a signal through his versatile cybernetic eyes, "and I'll make my escape." Holographic Dmitri grins, "I'll just need a pick up. Kwan's got a base on the other moon, Dobhair. See ya in a couple of hours!"

Dmitri's image mock salutes and his fading smirk is replaced by coordinates and a holographic map.

Eric growls, "Half-baked plan as usual," he squares his shoulders as he picks up the cube and heads to the cockpit, "Alright Dmitri, I'm on my way!"
